from Chairman
I
am very excited to be able to announce that the Global Office
Network to which you were previously a member has now been
re-launched with an exciting new format.
At
our last GON meeting in Beijing in February 2001 a new five
person Board of Directors was elected consisting of: Mr. Hoi See
Song (HK); Mr. Claus Thonbo (Monaco); Mr. Ronald Moss (United Kingdom);
Ms. Kate Lin (Taiwan) and Mr. Henrik Bernander (Singapore). Under my
direction and leadership a new GON company has now been registered
in Hong Kong, new By-Laws have been developed under the Memorandum
and Articles of Association and approved by the Board. A realistic
operating budget and membership fee structure has also been
developed and approved by the Board. All in all we are now
ready to go forward with the new GON which will be in club
format and provide a forum for independent business centre
owner's to exchange ideas, network, keep current
on office technologies and discuss issues that are common
to the specialized business sector in which we all operate.
Because of the general world-wide business slowdown which has
decreased demand in our sector and the rapid change in the
structure of our industry, there now appears to be a greater
need than ever for a non-profit, international association and
forum of business centre owners. Staying a member of the
new GON will not preclude you having a membership in any of
the other business centre networks such as ABCN, Locartis or
OBCAI. GON will be an invitation only membership "club"
of high quality business centre owners that will supplement
any membership you might have in another network that focuses
their efforts on marketing your offices and developing
business inquiries. I am very excited about the new GON
format and I am personally committed to devoting whatever time
and effort is required on my part to launch the new GON and
make it a success.
